In 1987 the always popular McDonald's fast food empire partnered with Simon Marketing to introduce McDonald's Monopoly. The promotional campaign, based on the well known board game, awarded small and large prizes on certain menu items via winning game pieces. But starting in 1989 and continuing through 2000, the game was rigged by one man who had been put in charge of distributing the winning pieces across the country.
