For as long as he could remember, Issei Sagawa had a hunger for human flesh. On June 13th, 1981, Sagawa realized a fantasy 32 years in the making when he shot and killed his close friend, Renee Hartevelt, a 26 year old Dutch woman attending the same university as Sagawa in Paris, France.
Sagawa spent the next two days indulging in acts of necrophilia with Renee's corpse, while at the same time butchering pieces of her flesh for consumption. He was finally arrested for Renee's murder four days after a failed attempt to dump her remains in a public park.
Though he openly admitted that he killed Renee in order to eat her flesh, Sagawa never faced the proper punishment for his crime, and lives as a free man today.
