Description

Roald Dahl wrote some of the most amazing children’s stories I’ve even read. My personal favourite of his is The Fantastic Mr Fox, but other classics such as James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG and The Twits, not forgetting George’s Marvellous Medicine were all must-reads when I was growing up.

If I had a hundred wishes I wouldn’t know where to start, but somewhere near the top would be that every child had a headteacher like mine, who took time to read to them once a week, no matter how long it took to finish the story. Every child on this planet should have someone who read to them, a funny story, with a funny voice, so that they could remember those moments as warmly as I do…

Here is a link to the series Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected. It’s well worth a watch.
