A Maple Ridge city councillor has been charged with a half dozen assault and firearms offences. Ahmed Yousef says he’s stepping aside from council to focus his time and efforts on some personal matters. Those matters apparently include four charges of assault, one count of pointing a firearm and another gun-related offence. The City of Maple Ridge has issued a statement saying it can’t provide further details but the city will continue to conduct business as usual.
