Description

This week, Natasha Nadir chats with Montreal-based playwright Anna Burkholder to talk about their play, Skye High.

Skye is new to town, and no one notices her—not even her mom. As she struggles to settle in, a wildfire destroys her childhood home in B.C., thousands of miles away. Left alone with her stepdad while her mom deals with the crisis, Skye becomes consumed by loneliness, grief, and recurring nightmares. She turns to urban exploration, sneaking into abandoned buildings and posting her adventures online. But when her latest stunt—climbing to the top of a mysterious pink house in the sky—goes wrong, Skye finds herself at the center of a high-stakes 911 call, forced to confront everything she’s been hiding.
