Malcolm Levy is the founder of Refraction DAO, a global community of music, art, and culture enthusiasts who produce festivals and ongoing events, organize NFTs projects, and create written, visual, and audio content around art, culture, and music today. Previously, Malcolm started his own music and tech festival, called New Forms, in the early 2000s after years of growing up in the east coast and midwest United States and Canadian rave scenes of the 90s. He then became the head curator for the digital arts festival of the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver. After that, he studied and then worked at the New School and the New Museum before starting Refraction in 2019. We talk about all of this experience and more.
This podcast is released in collaboration with Phlote, an experimental label and media company helping independent artists create music and monetize it as digital assets.
