In this episode of my Women in Technology Spotlight, you'll meet Rebecca Fox, who works as an Associate Solutions Engineer in the UK. Rebecca came to VMware after 18 years in the Army, where she worked in Signals for 10 years until she had done all the best assignments, and then another 8 years in the Nurse Corps, though she quickly realized that wasn't her calling.
Rebecca's path to IT is a very special one. At school she quickly realized that she preferred an active life in the fresh air to studying, and discovered life in the Army when she joined the "Royal Dragoons " for a week to learn about life. She then focused on achieving the 3 Cs that would allow her to join the RAF and left school at 16.
Rebecca tells me that she's always felt comfortable working with men and her advice to other women is to always do what you want to do, follow your passion and don't worry about what others think or what the gender balance is!
