As the government shutdown lingers on, it isn’t the first time that federal workers in North Carolin have had to deal with uncertainty. In 2018, there was a shutdown that impacted thousands of workers across North Carolina. Jon Franklin worked as a corrections officer at the prison in Butner and dealt with weeks of financial uncertainty.
