It may seem hard to believe now, but there was once a time where the political world was more civil. Rufus Edmisten was the Democratic nominee for governor in North Carolina in 1984. Republican Jim Martin would eventually win that election. Edmisten and Martin would go on to work together on legislation that would help North Carolinians in their day-to-day lives. Now, Edmisten is the co-host of the Weekend Gardner. He’s also writing a book about the importance of bringing civility back to the political world, and everyday life. Edmisten joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss the project.
