In this episode, Rob meets with Taryn Hiatt. Taryn is a survivor of suicide loss, having lost her father to suicide 20 years ago. She currently serves as the Utah Area Director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

Taryn discusses her uniquely challenging experience of finding her father after his suicide, how alcohol and substances provided her an escape from the grief around the loss of her dad, the connection that exists between addiction and mental/emotional disorders (including depression and suicidal intensity), how her involvement with AFSP began and evolved into what it is today, and finally, she bravely shares about her own experience surviving multiple suicide attempts.
