--Have video games (among other factors) trained many of us to expect smooth journeys and direct results? Are we overly dependent on the implicit idea that life is like an algebraic function?

--On that note, many seem upset--as if, if they follow the formula but do not succeed, there must something wrong with the structures (the landscape) of life, Maybe, but any progress must be made from first recognizing that life will never produce like a sleek mathematical function--f(x).

--Life is non-linear, and it should be expected to contain many failures in different areas of life. Failures can be considered points on the "flat" part of an exponential curve.
