In the wake of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Congress held hearings with now former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, as well as FBI Director Christopher Wray. Instead of focusing on how such a lapse of security occurred, some in Congress used the opportunity to attack the former President. Others argued that the Second Amendment, not the shooter, is to blame.
