The last Friday Refresh
Before Christmas
and all through the land
the people were hustling
with their presents in hand.
The stockings are hung
The halls are all decked.
The lights are all flickering
The lists are all checked.
But it’s easy as such
To become quite distracted.
By the bustle of crowds
All the stuff has attracted.
But my hope for you
In this holiday season
Is remembering daily
A much more important reason
The Families and friends
The kisses and hugs
By grandmothers and aunts
Who make hot chocolate in mugs.
So don’t miss the chance
To soak in every moment
With the ones that you love
Love’s the most important component
The holidays aren’t perfect
Some people will struggle
They’ve lost folks they loved
And wish for one final snuggle.
So take care of others
As Christmas draws near
Cards or Calls or Carols
In short spread Christmas cheer.
In truth, it’s not about Santa
But Christ’s work in the flesh
So Merry Christmas to All
And That is your Friday Refresh
