This week, Matt takes a look at 2nd Samuel as we pick up again our journey through the books of 1 & 2 Samuel.
In this episode we cover a lot of ground but focus on:
David's lament over the death of Saul, his crowning as King and then his triumphs as he takes back Jerusalem and reigns over all Israel. This is where the new dynasty begins and (in Chapter 7) we see the Davidic covenant, where God promises an everlasting Kingdom through the line of David.
We also cover David's significant short-comings and sin. The denunciation from Nathan, and then the ongoing consequences of his sin throughout his family.
Blessings or consequences follow every action, and this is clearly demonstrated here throughout 2nd Samuel.
