Over the past five years since I started Scendancy, I've been on quite the journey. We've gone through many evolutions in the business, and while some of my partners have been skeptical, I've always known that my purpose has been centered around two things: family and transformation.
Years ago, I had an idea to film life lessons from parents and grandparents, capturing their life stories on video. This idea led to a service where we interviewed people, building chapters of their video memoirs, and we still do this today. It's been incredibly rewarding to see life experiences through other people's eyes, transporting me to different worlds and giving me insight into how previous generations parented their children.
But this isn't just a business for me; it's an extension of who I am as a person. There's no line drawn between my personal life and my business life. My values and the values my company operates by are reflections of who I am as a person. I believe in being authentic, vulnerable, and emotionally available, whether I'm at work or at home with my family.
Maybe you have your own family values that you live by, and that's great. For me, it's all about making a difference in another person's world, helping them see something about themselves so that they can create a new future and opportunity for themselves.
