Nick started playing guitar when he was 12 years old . Put his first band together when he was 15 called High Voltage . They were together along time , then that ended and He got the gig with Zakk Wylde in 1996 . They toured 96 , 97 on the Book Of Shadows tour . Then in 1998 , Black Label Society was formed . Through the years the lineup in the rhythm section has changed . We have had many kick ass bass players come through , heres the lineup , started with John Deservio ( JD ) , then Steve Gibb ( SOB ) , then came Mike Inez ( Alice in Chains / Ozzy ) , Robert Trujillo ( Suicidal Tendencies / Ozzy ) , THEN came James Lomenzo ( White Lion / Pride and Glory / David Lee Roth ) , and FINALLY back to John Deservio AGAIN !! It came full circle . And we only had one drummer change , BLS started with Phil Ondich on drums and he was replaced by Craig ( Louisiana Lightning ) Nunenmacher . And Craig has been the rock for many many years . Nick has been beside Zakk for 12 years , and many many great things have happened through his career with Black Label .... Nick has his very own signature Washburn Nick Catanese guitar , Nick has a siganture string deal , the Dean Markley Shotgun Set . And all of the other great endorsers he has ... EMG pickups , Fuchs Amps , Electro Voice ( EV ) speakers and Cabinets , Zoom , Samson , Affliction Clothing , Monster Energy Drinks , and now Nick is proud to say he has signed with Paul Reed Smith guitars and will be out with a new Evil Twin Paul Reed Smith . Then in 2007 , after meeting Mike Stone , They started Speed X , and Speed X is Nick , Mike Stone , Mike Froedge ( doubleDrive ) , and Josh Sattler ( doubleDrive ) . Their debut CD is almost complete and ready for all the ears of the world to be pummeled . Nick is very proud of the place he is in the world , Nick has fantastic parents ( supportive as all hell ) , and his father who has bent over backwards to be his manager , BIG NICK ( clc1645@aol.com ) if anyone needs to email him , Nicks' mother who is his backbone , and his beautiful beautiful fiance Tiffany , who is Nicks world , and he wouldnt be the man his is if it wasnt for you and your understanding . Outside of music , Nick loves Racing , Nascar , NHRA . He has experienced driving Nascar at the Richard Petty driving school and the Jeff Gordon driving schools . KICK ASS fun !! Also Nick just started playing Inline Hockey , which kicks his ass everytime , He really gives hockey players all the respect in the world .
