Mister Ron's Basement #1349
Homer Croy wrote for every sort of publication that existed in the early twentieth century. Today's story appeared in 'The Boys' and Girls' Fifth Reader' back in 1919. The tale concerns a boy and his chicken. It's called 'Cleopatra and the Candidate.'
