Description

Stacy Francis is a nationally recognized financial expert and founder of Francis Financial, a financial planning firm for women experiencing divorce or the loss of a loved one. She is also the founder of Savvy Ladies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings financial planning education to women.

Growing up in a middle-class family in Michigan, Stacy witnessed her grandmother struggle in an abusive marriage where she was unable to leave her abusive relationship and ultimately succumbed due to  little financial education and control. Saddened and motivated by this unfortunate situation of a loved one, Stacy added economics to her language-focused coursework at Middlebury College in Vermont and started her career in an investment banking firm in New York City and later earned her Certified Financial Planner accreditation.

Then, with a passion for putting women in the driver's seat of their finances and educating women on the unique challenges and opportunities they face in retirement, she founded Francis Financial and Savvy Ladies.

On this episode of Money Loves Women, join Dr. Deborah Ekstrom and Stacy Francis to learn the considerations all women should take when planning for retirement, what qualities and qualifications to look for in a financial planner, how to involve kids in the money conversation, and how women invest differently than their male counterparts… and why that’s good!
