About This Episode

In this episode, we have Martin O’Toole, Author of How to Die Happy and Podcaster. We explored themes around life “in the Matrix”, depression, consumption, distraction, and “success”.

We went deep down the rabbit hole of pointless pursuance of success in today's society. We also got a little snippet on Martin’s new book: How To Die Happy, and how it examines why many of us feel robbed of this much sought-after prize.

About Martin O’Toole

Martin is “a man on the mend”, a recovered addict who once lived a very different materially-immersed life before hitting rock bottom. Moments from suicide, his Beagle talked him out of it. His healing journey provided a vast array of insights, from ancient Eastern philosophy, to extensive work with psychedelic medicines.

"If you told me I had five minutes left to live, I'd spend that time basking in gratitude for the incredible gift of life. I want others to have that choice too.

- Martin O’Toole

Through his experiences of the “pointless pursuance of success”, Martin uncovered the alchemy of everlasting happiness. Understanding the depths of depression and contrasting heights of delight, his compulsion to share his story resulted in How To Die Happy — his first book.
