This week in our focus on service (and the organizations that are doing fantastic work in that arena), we hear two stories from opposite sides of the same coin. One from the president of a new nonprofit that organizes disability awareness programs intended to break down barriers and foster compassion through interactive experiences, focused on awareness of different abilities, and the other from someone who has found their place through their work with the same organization.
The organization is called To Be Like Me. Hollis Owens, our first guest, is not only the president, but also the founder. And our second guest, TJ Smelko, is an adult living with different abilities that helps facilitate the organization's programs. This is a story of calling. Of follow through. Of purpose. And it's one you don't want to miss.
