In this episode of the Hello Lovely Podcast, I share a different way to think about goals — one that removes pressure and reconnects your ambitions with what truly matters to you.
For many of us, goals quietly become tied to our sense of worth. We believe that achieving something will finally prove that we’re good enough. But I want to offer another perspective. Your life is already valuable. Your worth isn’t determined by results. Goals can simply be a way to add interest, growth, and a little more “spice” to your life.
In this episode, I walk through the six standards I personally use before committing to any goal. These standards help me make sure the goal is something I genuinely want to pursue — not something driven by pressure, comparison, or the need to prove myself. When a goal meets these standards, the journey toward that result becomes far more enjoyable and meaningful.
I also invite you to think about the person you’ll become along the way. Instead of waiting until the result happens to feel confident or fulfilled, you can begin embodying that version of yourself right now. The thoughts, habits, and behaviors that create new results are available to you today.
I often compare goals to putting together a puzzle. The finished picture is satisfying, but the real beauty is in placing each piece along the way. Personal growth works the same way. The journey itself shapes who you become.
If goals have ever felt heavy, stressful, or tied to self-criticism, this episode will help you approach them with more clarity, curiosity, and enjoyment.
