In this episode of the Hello Lovely Podcast, I talk about what confidence actually is and how it’s created.
I share a personal story about recently joining a business mastermind with a group of talented and hardworking women. My business is growing, and I could see the momentum building. I didn’t want to be in a position where I was trying to catch up with that growth later, so I made the decision to invest in my business and in myself now.
Getting into the mastermind didn’t happen the first time I applied. My initial application was rejected and my application fee was refunded. I applied again and was rejected again. After taking time to pray, evaluate my priorities, and check in with myself, I realized the opportunity still aligned with what I wanted for my business and my future. So I applied again, explained my situation clearly, and this time I was accepted.
That experience reinforced something powerful for me: confidence isn’t about talent, skill, or experience. Confidence is created through decisions and consistent action.
Confidence is continuing to take action until you figure things out. It’s choosing to keep going even when the process requires persistence. It’s planning, deciding, taking action, and following through.
In this episode, I also introduce the three areas that create genuine confidence: your priorities, your relationship with yourself, and your decision-making process. Over the next three episodes, I’ll be breaking down each of these areas and showing you how to build confidence in all three.
