Frigus is a snowshoe race put on by The Endurance Society, a Northeast based event company run by Andy Weinberg. Many OCR enthusiasts from back in the day know the importance of Andy but nowadays he is still a solid race director.
Speaking of OCR enthusiasts, I was able to have Scott Sweeney call in to talk about his experience at Frigus. Scott is frequently a volunteer coordinator for races like FIT Challenge and Bonefrog. Whether he is participating or playing a crucial role in the event, he is always a welcome sight. Be sure to thank him for the work he does as an unsung hero. Races can't happen without volunteers, and the volunteer coordinator is vital in getting them together to keep races running smoothly.
