Dr Jim Frankel is the Director of MusicFirst and the Head of Digital Education for the Music Sales Group.
He is also on the faculty of Teachers College at Columbia University where he runs courses in Music Technology in Education.
In a couple of previous lives, he worked as the Director of Instrumental Music at Franklin Avenue Middle School and later worked as the Managing Director of Soundtree.
Jim has authored and co-authored multiple books including The Teacher's Guide to Music, Media & Copyright Law, YouTube in Music Education, and Making Music with GarageBand & Mixcraft.
Although we live on opposite sides of the world, Jim was an early influence on my own work in the area of music tech in education. I discovered Jim and the podcast he had at the time which was imaginatively titled Dr Frankel's Podcast and through it I was able to listen to the audio of his conference presentations and workshops and listen to samples of student projects.
