Vanishing Point (1971) is an amped up car chase movie featuring a counter-culture hero in the time of American angst. Berry Newman and Clevon Little are outstanding as they form a connection this movie. The car chases are some of the best ever filmed and the soundtrack is off the scale, maybe 11.
