That's saying something because I've seen some amazing programs in the past year, and American Primeval is among the best ones. This miniseries reveals the appalling violence and cruelty of the West. There are some really graphic and violent moments, so if that bothers you, this show might not be for you. Although there are multiple narratives to follow, they are all compelling. It doesn't downplay how uncivilized and barbaric people were in their quest for territory. Even though the year has only just begun, this will likely rank among the top picks for most people's best of the year lists. I found the first episode to be entertaining.
