Today's promise: 2 Samuel 22:29
This promise shows up as David expresses his praise and thankfulness for God delivering him from his enemies and King Saul. David declares that God is His lamp. A burning lamp was the symbol of lasting happiness and strength. The lamp provided consistent light.

The second part of this promise could be said this way. "My God is the one who turns my darkness into light."
