You are a brand new person in Christ. Today's promise is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Amazing things happened when you came to Christ. Yes, your sins were forgiven, and yes your place in Heaven was secured, but that is just the beginning. Paul says that those who are "in Christ" (one of his favorite ways of describing the Christian) are new creatures.
You are not the same person you were before you came to Christ. It doesn't matter what your past was like, what you did, thought or how you acted. That person is no longer around. That person is dead and gone.
God has made you new. In Christ, the power of your old life with it's desire to please itself and rebel against God has been replaced by the Spirit of Christ. Now you live the resurrected life with Christ.
