Today's Promise: John 14:5-6
In the verses just before this promise, Jesus told the disciples how wonderful heaven would be. He said there will be a place made especially for each of His followers. As usual, they didn't understand.
One of the disciples said, "How do we know the way?" Jesus said, "I am the way." He didn't say I know the way, or I can show you the way. Jesus said, "I am the way."
He then took it to the next level by saying, He was the only way. Jesus discounted all other religions. They may be good people, doing good things, but salvation comes only through Jesus.
