The great hope we have as Christians is the return of Christ. Through the years, Christians have looked forward to His return. They have placed their confidence in the promises of the Bible that one day, Jesus will return and when He does, we will meet Him in the air.
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He told the disciples that He would one day come again. The Bible is filled with prophecies (promises) related to His return. As each prophecy is fulfilled, we draw closer and closer to the time of His return.
When He returns, you will meet Him in the air. If you have died, you will be resurrected first to meet Him, and if you are alive at the time, you will be "caught up" to meet Him in the air.
