There is coming a day when we will see the Lord Jesus face to face. Here is the promise.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. – John 14:3
One of the greatest promises of scripture is the return of Christ. Jesus promised there would come a time when He would return for His followers. Since the day Jesus ascended into heaven, Christians have been looking forward to the return of Christ.
Jesus promised that when returns, He will take us to a special place He has prepare just for you and me. For 2,000 years, He has been preparing His bride (those who are His followers) to come and be with Him.
In Jesus' day, when a couple was to be married, the future husband would go and prepare a place for them to live. It might take weeks, it might take months, but he would not return for his bride until everything was ready. The bride was to be prepared anytime word of her husband's return came.
Jesus said He was preparing a place for each one of us. As His follower, your dwelling place for all eternity is being perfectly designed just for you.
We don't know the time, day, or even the year of His return. Our responsibility is to simply be ready. We are to live as though the day of His return could be today.
