The book of Habakkuk closes with the prophet declaring that even if the harvest does not come in, he will still give to the Lord and take joy in his God. Our culture often considers giving to be done out of ones excess, of what is left over. If we have some extra, then we may give some of that away. However the Bible teaches that because God has given us everything that we have, we are to give first to God and trust him to provide for us.
