Description

Candida auris is a multi-drug resistant fungus that can asymptomatically colonize the skin and various body sites or cause serious invasive infections with high mortality. Given its drug resistance, it is considered a possible global threat. As of the recording of this episode, several cases and outbreaks of C. auris have been documented in the US.
