In Chapter 3 of Ruth we encounter the continuing story of Ruth and Naomi. Naomi instructs Ruth to go to the place where Boaz is processing his grain harvest. Naomi's plan is to explore the possibility that Boaz would be agreeable to acting as the kinsman redeemer who would take Ruth as his wife and therefore, give her some long term security.
The story narrative exposes us to cultural practices that puzzle and intrigue the modern reader. As we have discovered in previous lessons, we find the book of Ruth to be insightful, inspirational and instructional. It is in many ways, as others have said, the "gospel according to Ruth".
