Description

The 9th August is National Women”s Day in South Africa. It marks the day in 1956 when 20,000 women from across the colour bar descended on the Union Buildings in Pretoria. They marched in opposition to the dreaded apartheid pass laws. It was on that day in 1994 that the young charismatic political activist, Feroza Adam died in a car accident.
Feroza Adam was credited with inspiring and uniting women across race and class divisions as a tireless worker for women’s rights. She had strong views about women’s role being changed. Feroza Adam was a woman who stood up against it all…….male dominion, racial and religious prejudice. Tune in to this edition of “Tam Tam Express” as we celebrate the life of a passionate woman, a freedom fighter who didn’t get the chance to enjoy the freedom she fought and lived for!
