The international community is today marking the beginning of the 16 days of Activism Against of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children. This an international campaign observed from 25 November to 10 December to raise awareness of the negative impact that violence has on women, children and society in general. This year's campaign will be held under the theme "Count Me In. Together moving a non-violent South Africa forward". The campaign will also mark its 16th Anniversary of raising gender based violence, reflect on 20 years of democracy in South Africa, and 60 years of the Women's Charter.
