MEDIA FREEDOM IN AFRICA

On the Programme today we talk media freedom! Is the media really free in the African continent? We have seen in the recent past, moves by government to silence the media on issues. In Zimbabwe we know of the disappearing of a Journalist who was abducted by unknown men. In South Africa during the Nkandla visit by the Adhoc committee initially journalist were not allowed to join the committee on the tour to assess the Nkandla upgrades. On the other hand we know that in Zambia some media houses have been blocked on the internet space and can’t be accessed. So are we going towards an era where media will be regulated? To help us analyse the situation we have :
