Last week the Mail & Guardian reported that the South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Co-operation Lindiwe Sisulu had appointed a review panel to evaluate the country’s foreign policy and advice on ways to strengthen South Africa’s economic diplomacy with other African states. It was reported that Sisulu wants former president Thabo Mbkei to preside over the panel. Mbeki’s African Renaissance was aimed at ensuring the Africa’s political stability and economic regeneration, focussing on freeing it from its international debt burden.
