Tax experts from Africa and around the world are discussing the Taxation of Extractive Industries in Johannesburg, South Africa. The three day meeting which concludes today aims at providing an overview of the challenges facing the continent's tax systems in cross border exports in the extractive industry, including transfer pricing and natural resource contracts.The Forum on taxis also looking at the need to improve on the capacity, skill base, and address specific regional challenges faced by tax administrators. To look at the role of the African revenue authorities in ensuring that more revenue is mobilised to enable African governments meet their obligations, we are now joined on the line by:
