Description

The 27th African Union summit wrapped up on Monday, in Kigali, Rwanda, and still had not elected their new chairperson for the union’s commission. So, the current chair Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma was asked to stay on until January next year. None of the three candidates contesting the position received the necessary two-thirds majority vote required. Dominating the talks was the political crisis in South Sudan, the African e-passport for heads of state and the self-sufficiency of the African union to fund itself.
