Battles within the African National Congress (ANC) are getting heated by the minute with now a key member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), Minister Jackson Mthembu, coming to Cyril Ramaphosa’s defence, insisting that the president is here to stay, this after the Ekhuruleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina called on the president to resign while legal battles regarding his CR17 campaign funding are ongoing. Last week former President Jacob Zuma also entered the debate and wrote an open letter to current President Ramaphosa addressing internal party politics. So we ask the question: Is this the beginning of the end?
