The BRICS Summit kicks off today, as more delegates started trickling in from yesterday as the South African delegation lead by President Jacob Zuma arrived in Ufa, in Russia. This year’s summit, which will be hosted by the President of the Russian Federation, will go under the theme “BRICS Partnership – a Powerful Factor of Global Development. Held only for two days, the summit will also see the launch of the New Development Bank, which is aimed at minimizing the monopoly of western financial institutions.
