She is a chartered accountant by profession with an extensive career in business and community engagement in South Africa. She is the Chairman for Allan Gray Orbis Foundation in her previous career she was a former chair and partner of the board of Deloitte Southern Africa; she was the first African black woman to be appointed as a partner and went on to become the chairman of Deloitte Southern Africa. She is the past president and first woman president of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa, a body dedicated to nurturing emerging black accountants.
