Time to go to what’s happening on the continent. Today we zoom into a zoom into South Africa although Mandela Day is celebrated throughout the world it is of special significance to us here in South Africa. Tomorrow marks Mandela Day a day where everyone is encouraged to spend 67 minutes of their time doing something good for someone else in honour of the late former statesman. Mandela Day encourages active citizenship. It is about taking Madiba’s legacy forward. Meanwhile the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation called on South Africans to share their thoughts on actions that need to be taken to “fix our democracy” in relation to state reform, in honour of Nelson Mandela.
