It was reported last week that more than 11,000 migrants have been rescued in the Mediterranean by aid groups and the Italian Coast Guard. The head of the International Organisation of Migration, William Lacy Swing, confirmed that there were up to three thousand and five hundred migrant deaths in the Mediterranean, just this year. Swing said that Europe needed to start looking at the situation differently if it wanted to see change.
