The Pan African Parliament will soon become a full legislative body as envisioned by the Protocol to the Treaty establishing the African Economic Community relating to PAP. This continental parliament was established in 2004 as a consultative body to the African Union and its founding members said it will given full legislative powers in five year. Most this parliament is being dismissed as a toothless body.
