Today is the seventh and last day of the Umhlanga Reed Dance, a traditional ceremony in Eswatini, where thousands of Swati maidens gather and dance for the Queen mother. The cultural event is performed as a tribute to the royal family. It is a centuries-old tradition where the Kingdom's unmarried and childless females present their newly cut reed to the Queen Mother to protect her residence.
