Description

Rwanda is fast becoming a beacon of a progressive country in Africa. It has increased its women representation in Parliament, beating its current world record of 64 percent. This means out of a total parliamentary membership of 80, women occupy 54 seats. Meanwhile the country has unleashed the first Smartphones Made Entirely in Africa; the Mara Group has opened a new plant in Kigali to manufacture two smartphones, the Mara X and Mara Z. On the other hand a few years ago Rwanda made headlines as the first country to pilot blood deliveries by drone. Technology can save lives and this is a reality in Rwanda where drones are used to deliver medical supplies in remote areas. Finally President Paul Kagame has offered his country as a pilot for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).
