Description

The Annual Southern African Transport Conference and Exhibition is currently underway in South Africa’s capital Pretoria under the theme – “Transport: A catalyst for socio-economic growth and development opportunities to improve the quality of life”. The SACT was started in 1982 with the need to transfer knowledge and build capacity within the transport sector. The conference brings together key role players in the transport sector such as Engineers, Academics, Manufacturers, Government officials and policy makers in transport. The South African Transport Minister Dipuo Peters in opening the conference highlighted that efficient transport systemsprovide socio-economic opportunities and benefits that result in positive multiplier effects such as a better accessibility to markets, employment and additional investments.
