Description

The EFF says it will go to the Constitutional Court to challenge the suspension of the Public Protector's remedial action against Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan - pending a judicial review into the so called SARS 'Rogue Unit'. The High court in Pretoria has interdicted the implementation of Busisiwe Mkhwebane's recommendations - including that President Cyril Ramaphosa discipline him within 30 days. The office of the Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is considering referring high court judge Sulett Potterill to the Judicial Services Commission. The Public Protector has raised concern over the language that Judge Sulet Potteril used when delivering judgement in the matter between it and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. Gordhan had brought an urgent application to interdict the Public Protector's remedial action in the so called SARS rogue unit. The court granted Gordhan's urgent application to suspend Mkhwebane's remedial action against him pending a judicial review.
